Nevada City Government Contacts

City Council

Nevada City’s City Council consists of five members elected at large. Councilmembers serve four-year terms, and the Mayor and Vice Mayor are chosen from among the council by a vote of its members.

City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at 317 Broad Street, Nevada City, CA 95959. Meetings are open to the public and can also be viewed through local public broadcasting channels and online.

To submit public comments to the Nevada City, California City Council, you can email your message to publiccomment@nevadacityca.gov. Emails received by 7:00 PM on the Monday prior to the meeting will be forwarded to the entire City Council by Tuesday afternoon. Please note that these emails will not be read aloud during the meeting.

Councilmembers do not have offices at City Hall, but messages and letters can be left for them there and are regularly reviewed.
